The quest to find the UK’s most inspirational entrepreneurs has commenced - the prestigious NatWest everywoman Awards are now open for entries.
The NatWest everywoman Awards have been running since 2003 and were established to celebrate those women who have started and run successful businesses. The Awards both showcase the challenges and uncover the stories of hard-won success, and in doing so encourage and inspire women into entrepreneurship. Read more...

2011 Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards

The Cartier Women’s Initiative Award, a joint project with the Women’s Forum, is a social entrepreneurship competition aimed at creative, financially sustainable and responsible women-led start-ups, in all countries and industries.
The Awards are given each year to five laureates, one per continent: Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America. The prize includes one year of business coaching, US$ 20,000 in funding as well as an invitation to the 2011 Women’s Forum Global Meeting (13-15 October 2011 – Deauville, France). Read more...

Veuve Clicquot on the hunt for top women in business

The search has begun for the 2011 Business Woman of the Year, with nominations now open.
The Veuve Clicquot Business Woman of the Year Award attempts to find the most inspirational women in business, and considers both entrepreneurs and leaders of established organisations.

Women On Boards: Call for Evidence

The low proportion of women holding directorships suggests British business is not using all of the skills and talents of the workforce effectively. Government is committed to seeing swift change in this area, and this Call for Evidence is seeking views from across the business world.
The business case for increasing the number of women on boards is clear. Evidence suggests that companies with a strong female representation at board and top management level perform better than those without and that gender diverse boards have a positive impact on performance
The Call for Evidence will close on 30 November and is seeking views from across the business world, with the emphasis on finding solutions that will break down these barriers.

Bradford group to promote interests of women in business
A female lawyer is leading the development of a new group devoted to promoting the interests of Bradford’s women entrepreneurs.
Susan Clark, a partner at Bradford-based Last Cawthra Feather, wants the Network for Enterprising Women’s Success (NEWS), to provide practical support for local businesswomen and not be just a social network. Read more... |
